CPWO Asked to Join as Stakeholder for Development of the Framework to Prevent and Address Gender-Based Violence at Post-Secondary Institutions

Sarah Sullivan, the Executive Secretary for the CPWO represented the CPWO at a stakeholders meeting to assist in the development of the Framework to Prevent and Address Gender-Based Violence at Post-Secondary Institutions. The Framework is being supported by a $5.5 million commitment made by the Government of Canada to address this urgent issue and to develop a Framework to Prevent and Address Gender-Based Violence at Post-Secondary Institutions over the next five years.

The framework will capture promising practices, policy areas and guiding principles in collaboration with community stakeholders from across Canada. It will build on the crucial work already being done on campuses and in communities to address sexual violence. The Framework will act as a comprehensive resource to guide post-secondary institutions’ actions in preventing and addressing gender-based violence. We hope to continue dialogue and advisement as the Framework creation progresses over the next few years.
